Sharon Smith, Editor-in-Chief of SGN Scoops Magazine and wife of Allen Smith, Passes Away
Sharon Smith Memorial Service update:
Sharon had requested no visitation service & no graveside service. Her desire was simply to be buried, and then to have a memorial service afterward. So, the family is honoring that request.
There will be a memorial service this Sunday afternoon, May 27, 2007 at Sharon's home church. It will be a celebration of her life and ministry. It will start at 2:00 p.m. and take place at Full-Gospel Tabernacle, 11745 E. State Hwy E (3 miles North East of Potosi, Missouri on Hwy E).
Flowers may be sent to the address above - but any gifts made to the family need to be sent to the Brannin Agency for distribution at the benefit concert in June.
Please continue to keep the Smith family in your thoughts and prayers.
Benefit Concert for Smith Family Moved
Sharon Smith, Editor-in-Chief of SGN Scoops Magazine and wife of Allen Smith, passed away this morning, May 24, 2007.
Sharon had been diagnosed with inoperable uterine cancer earlier this year and had only been given a year to live. In addition, she also had kidney failure because of the cancer and was on dialysis three days a week.
Funeral arrangements will be announced as they become available.
Although Sharon had been covered by Medicaid, there are still many expenses that are not being covered. Judy Brannin of the Brannin Agency has scheduled a benefit concert for the Smith family.
The benefit concert is being held in order to cover additional costs and medical expenses that the Smiths are facing due to Sharon’s illness and death. The concert has been moved up since the last update was sent out last week.
The concert has been moved to Saturday, June 23, 2007. The concert will be held at the House of Praise Church of God in Desloge, Missouri. Artists currently scheduled to perform at the benefit include Sunday Edition, Masters of Grace, Bev McCann, the Cerces, Alabama Spirituals, Kathy Atkins, Loretta Withee, Dave Williford Band, Karen Carr, Wendell Johnson, Hearts of Faith, and Hearts N Harmony.
Artists are also being asked to donate some products to sell or auction off. If you would like to send a donation, please contact Judy as well. Donations have currently been made from Gaither Music, Agape Photography, Anthony Burger Productions, the Freemans, Emmaus Road Quartet, Kirk Talley, the MaHarreys, Tim & Mary Alice Lovelace, the Trav’lers Quartet, and Mark Lowry.
